Indiana was grated statehood in 1816. Though the smallest US state west of the Appalachian Mountains, Indiana is home to a large population and a diverse economy, including agriculture and food processing, steel production, electronics, transportation, and other manufacturing. The pharmaceutical industry also plays a large role in the economy of Indiana. Historically, gold and silver mining never played large roles. Indiana has a large population, and there are a large number of top Indiana gold and silver dealers to serve this population.
