BUY GOLD AND SILVER IN GEORGIA

Georgia has the largest land area of any US state east of the Mississippi river. Georgia has a large population and a vibrant, diverse economy, including agriculture, mining, manufacturing, insurance, finance, and logisitcs. Many large US and foreign companies are headquartered in Georgia, especially in the Atlanta metro area. The large population of the state ensures that there are a number of top gold and silver dealers in Georgia, especially in Atlanta. Investing in silver and gold enjoys high popularity among residents of the state. Gold was mined in northern Georgia for decades — a US Mint branch even operated in the state, minting gold coins.

Are There Taxes on Buying Gold and Silver Bullion in Georgia?

There are sales tax exemptions that apply when you buy silver, gold, and platinum in Georgia, along with collectible coins. Specifically, sales of gold, silver, or platinum bullion, as well as sales of collectible coins or currencies, are exempt from sales tax under Georgia law. To be considered exempt, coins have to be legal tender and derive their value from their rarity and value, and precious metals bullion has to derive its value from its metal content, not the form. Please note that several numismatic items are not included in this broad exemption, such as medallions, tokens, medals, stamps, and coins that do not possess any legal tender status. Other types of precious metals bullion are not included, such as palladium, rhodium, copper, and ruthenium. Also beware that county and local sales and use taxes may occasionally apply when purchasing silver, gold, and platinum bullion in Georgia. CBMint is not based in Georgia, so residents of Georgia do not have to pay any sales taxes when buying bullion online from CBMint.
